Marlene Schürz is a doctoral student at the Leibniz Institute of Freshwater Ecology and Inland Fisheries (IGB). She is working on a high-resolution freshwater habitat characterization and is conducting analyses across spatial scales to highlight distinct patterns of aquatic insects and potential gaps in the global network of protected areas.
